Dena G. Joyce, DACM, L.Ac. Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, nationally board certified, and proud to call North Pole home.
Training and credentials
- Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM), Pacific College of Health and Science, San Diego
- Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM), Pacific College of Health and Science, New York
- Bachelor of Science, Ithaca College
- Nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (NCBAHM)
- Licensed acupuncturist in Alaska, with active licensure in New York, New Jersey and Florida
- Clinical internship in Labor & Delivery at Lutheran Medical Center (now NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn)
- Advanced training in orthopedics, fertility acupuncture, labor and delivery, men’s health and the NADA ear acupuncture protocol.
The story
Dr. Dena spent the first part of her career in media and advertising, where she first discovered acupuncture as a way to manage stress, long hours and poor sleep. Experiencing the benefits firsthand ultimately led her to retrain in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She completed a clinical internship at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, now NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and went on to practice in New Jersey and New York before moving to Alaska.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Dena is a cave diver and nationally competitive Olympic weightlifter. She enjoys fishing, hiking, paddle boarding, gardening and spending time at home in North Pole with her retired sled dog and chickens.
